KUALA LUMPUR (Nikkei Markets) -- Malaysia's Securities Commission estimates corporates to raise about 120 billion ringgit ($31 billion) from the country's capital markets in 2018 that will lag last year's 146.6 billion ringgit.

"The 2017 number was an exceptionally strong outlier," Chairman Ranjit Ajit Singh said at a news conference. Corporates, which had perhaps deferred their capital raising plans in 2016, bunched their deals the next year, he added.
