KUALA LUMPUR (Nikkei Markets) -- Shares in Malaysia and Singapore extended losses on Monday, falling to more-than-two-week lows, as concerns over a global trade war weighed on demand for regional equities.
Malaysia's FBM KLCI declined 0.7% to 1,842.62, the lowest since Feb 15. Press Metal Aluminum tumbled 9.1%, adding to Friday's 5.5% decline, after U.S. President Donald Trump proposed a 10% import tariff on aluminum. A local fund manager, who did not wish to be identified, said foreign investors are exiting amid worries over a potential rise in aluminum price volatility.
