KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 27) -- Malaysia's gaming-and-resort giant Genting said Tuesday its fourth quarter net profit plunged over 88% on year, dragged down by larger impairment losses and as the year-ago quarter included one-off gains.

Net profit for the three months ended Dec. 31 was 133.15 million ringgit compared to 1.13 billion ringgit in the same period last year, Genting said in an exchange filing. Genting had booked one-off gains of about 1.3 billion ringgit from the sale of its stake in Genting Hong Kong in the same quarter last year.
