Once again you have touched on something that is bothering me too. All talk and no action. I have often wondered if we do have a plan as a country for this vision that we have been singing about for so long. It seems to me that people seem to think that the more they don’t talk and write about vision 2022, it will miraculously become a reality.

Let’s be honest, we are way behind with the so-called First World status. I just wonder if Botswana considers itself as a First World country. In my opinion, Botswana is miles ahead of us and yet, I haven’t heard them talking about First World status.

How about we keep quiet and instead do something tangible. Otherwise, we are nothing but a laughing stock out there. On another note, I wonder if the Minister of Finance is tightening the financial belt all round. People complain and toyitoyi because they see that they are the only ones expected to tighten their belts while it’s business as usual all over the place.

Take the issue of the salary increases for the Judiciary, these guys are already being paid so much and with so many benefits. Why not freeze their salaries if the financial situation is as bad as we are being told? Also, why have so many foreign trips?

What criteria is used to decide as to who goes as a member of these delegations? Let’s not fool ourselves by thinking that by being silent something will change. In fact, if we didn’t have the Lilangeni pegged to the South African Rand, we would have long reached the junk status as a country.
Let’s wake up to reality maSwati lamahle. That is the only way forward nyalo.
